It really exists
I forgot the Japanese name but it’s a symbol of an ancient Japanese clan. I found this on a stone near Himeji Castle. It has symbols carved into rocks to indicate which clans helped build the castle.

It looks like sperm.
I believe it is called a tomoe. It is used a lot for symbolism in various things such as anime, manga, movies, and martial arts.
